Welcome to my web site, .NET Advisor. My name is Rob Mills. It is here that I hope I can share some tips that I have learned over the course of my career. Learning how to build better, more robust applications with .NET is a passion of mine. Yes, I admit that makes me kind of a geek. What can I say?
I'm a self-taught programmer in that I've never taken a class on software development. Some may look down on that - not me. Some of the best developers I've met were self-taught. In order to learn this stuff on your own takes some determination and desire. I've been doing this for seven years now and nowhere close to having learned it all. Nor will I ever learn it all. Thanks to the speed with which technology changes there will always be something new to learn and to pass on to aspiring developers.
I currently reside in Raleigh, NC where I work full-time for Sanmina-SCI, a global manufacturing company. It's a great company and I enjoy the project I am working on for them as well as the team I work with. I have faced many new challenges on this project and am very thankful for that. After all, if there's no challenge then I would be bored because I wouldn't be learning anything new.
I built this site for several reasons. One, I wanted to have a little space on the web that I could call my own. I'm totally in charge of what goes on here. I also wanted to share my experiences with other developers. Not only do I like to learn more about development I also enjoy teaching others. So, please enjoy the information I've placed here and drop me an email if you'd like.
Respectfully,
Rob Mills
